August Students of the Month


Allison McIntyre and Johnathan Lipovich have been selected as the August Students of the Month.

Allison Krista McIntyre is the daughter of Jason and Tina McIntyre of Shinnston. She is the granddaughter of Karen and Rick Burrows of Clarksburg, and the late Daphne and Charles McIntyre of Shinnston.

Allison is ranked number one in the senior class of 123 students. She has a composite score of 32 on the ACT and a score of 1360 on the SAT. Allison is a National AP Scholar with Honors. She is an active member of the Art Club and was inducted into the National Honor Society her junior year.

Allison is the winner of the Congressional Art Competition, has had artwork on display in Washington, D.C., and was chosen as the Academic and Artistic Scholarship to the 2016 SCAD Summer workshops.

Allison is an active member of Jewel City Church, and participates with their youth group, praise band, and camera ministry. She is four-year member of the Lincoln High School marching band and has been selected to participate in the WVU Honors Band.

Allison’s future plans are to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia, and major in Digital Arts/3D Animation.

Jonathan Lloyd Lipovich is the son of William and Amy Lipovich of Shinnston.

Jonathan begin his high school career as a Spanish Language Ambassador by completing West Virginia Spanish Language Immersion Camp. He also played soccer and received his varsity letter. During his junior year, Jonathan was inducted into the National Honor Society. He is a member of the Christian Club and a four year member of the Lincoln High School marching band.

Jonathan is an active member of the NJROTC program at Lincoln High School. He is currently an executive officer and color guard commander of his NJROTC unit. During his freshman year, he was named NJROTC Freshman of the Year, as well as being awarded the Veterans of Foreign Wars Award and the Stephen Decatur Award based on his leadership ability. This past summer, Jonathan was chosen to attend Mountaineer Boys State.

He is a member of the Meadowbrook Church of Christ and actively participates in Whitehall Church of Christ’s youth group. Within the youth group, Jonathan has attended Mid-Ohio Valley Work Camp for many years, where he is able to paint houses with many other Christian youth groups, for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.

Jonathan’s future plans are to achieve an undergraduate degree in Biology or related field and get a graduate degree in Orthopedic Surgery.
