Lincoln High Will Transform into Rydell High in December

This year, the Lincoln High School Theater Department is very excited to announce that they will be performing Grease for their annual musical performance.

The cast has already been picked and they have even already started to practice after school.

The two main leads chosen are Karley Lemley, who will play Sandra Dee "Sandy" Ollson, and Timothy Scheuvront who plays Danny Zuko.

Some other main leads are Rizzo, who will be played by Olivia Gianettino, and Frenchy, who will be played by Jodie Ice, and last but not least of the Pink Ladies, Jan who will be played by Kaylyn Broadwater. The other well-known group from the famous musical is the T-birds. Jonathan Loman will play Kenickie, Jacob Pritt was selected to play Sonny, and Zach Zahn gets the honor of acting as Roger.

The techies normally start a couple weeks before the actors and actresses. This year, however, for some reason, they didn't get a chance to start early and won't be able to start until after Homecoming. The techies aren't strangers to a quote from Mr. Channel that goes "Work faster, not smarter, and suck it up, Buttercup" and they have a feeling they may be hearing that a lot this year in getting the show ready for showtimes.

The cast crew put a lot of work into the musical every year. Sometimes the musical is different then the movie. For example, they might take out a song or two, or even sometimes a character, but the music or characters can always get put in by the musical staff if they want them in.

Just as students have to maintain a 2.0 grade point average to play a sport, the cast and crew for the musical are no different. A lot of thinking goes into the musical, along with a lot or practice and hard work. The techies pretty much make all the sets and scenery from scratch. It takes a lot of hardwork and time.

The play won't be performed for the public until December 8th and 9th. December 10th may also be added as a date to see the show, but it hasn't been finalized yet. Watch for more announcements closer to showtime to find out dates, times, and ticket prices.
