Cougars vs Indians: Crosstown Rivals

Bridgeport vs Lincoln

The Cougars pulled out a big win against Bridgeport. Freshman, Hannah Ferris, had one of the best games of her career that Tuesday night, finishing with a 53-39 win. Ferris hit 8-of-11 and scored a whopping 19 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Cougars moved to 11-8 in the season.

Gracey Lamm added nine points with eight assists, with Victoria Storm adding eight points. Brynne Williams threw up six points, while Jade DeBerry contributed four points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Even with the Indians missing Rory Marple and Bronlie Jacobs with injuries, Riggs scored 18 points and passed off for three assists, while Smith added 15 points.

Lincoln never trailed, scoring first by Williams for a layup in the first 17 seconds. The Indians were able to lower the lead in the first half and scoring the last points for them in the first half, Riggs retaliated with four free throws, and the final two at 1:36 to go, making the lead 12-9. The Cougars then pushed the lead back to six when Lamm banked in a 3 pointer at the right wing just before the buzzer.

The Cougars reeled off the first 11 points of the third quarter. The Indians were able to cut the deficit to 13 from a 3-pointer by Smith from the right wing and made it 27-14. Bridgeport made one last run for the Cougars getting the first eight points of the fourth quarter. Lamm, Ferris, and DeBerry all hit baskets as Lincoln moved its lead to 22 points with a bit over a minute left leaving the score at 53-31 for a win over Bridgeport.
