Gump, Martin Selected as January Students of the Month


Jordon Gump and Justin Martin have been selected as January Students of the Month.

Jordon Gump is the son of Rebecca and Jerald Jones of Wallace, and is the grandson of Chuck and Charlotte Gump.

Jordon has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while attending Lincoln High School and has already qualified as a PROMISE Scholar. He was inducted into the National Honor Society during his junior year of high school. Jordan was a very active member of our Future Business Leaders of America Club and is an accounting completer. He is also a four year member of the Lincoln High School Marching Band and a one-year member of the Jazz Band. Jordan also participates with our Ping Pong Club, as well as being a Knowledge Quest Leader at Lumberport Elementary School. He was also chosen to attend the American Legion Mountaineer Boys’ State last summer.

Jordon was a four-year member of the varsity football team and a key player in the team advancing to the playoffs two consecutive years during his sophomore and junior years. He was selected as a member of the 1st Team All Big 10 the last two years, as well as being named 2nd Team All County, and All State Honorable Mention this year. Jordan is also a four-year member of the Boys Track Team, where he qualified for the State Track Meet his sophomore year.

In his spare time, Jordon is a volunteer firefighter at the Wallace Fire Department. His future plans are to attend college and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Justin Philip Martin is the son of Philip and Angie Martin of Bridgeport, and is the grandson of Dave and Ruth Franks and Melvin and Suzanne Martin.

During his four years at Lincoln High School, Justin has maintained over a 4.0 GPA and has been on the perfect honor roll each six weeks. During his junior year of high school, he was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Justin has taken several Advance Placement classes at Lincoln High School, as well as the WVU Dual Credit Math Classes, and this year is attending Fairmont State University and taking dual college credit classes at the Caperton Center. He has also qualified as a PROMISE Scholar.

Throughout high school, he has collected many accolades. Justin has received Top Scholar in Math III Stem, was awarded a certificate for attendance, completed the 2016 High School Cyber Challenge, and placed 2nd in the 2017 High School Cyber Challenge.

Justin has been very active with organizations and extra-curricular while at Lincoln. He is a member of the FBLA, Key Club, Ping Pong Club, and Tennis Club.

Justin was also a four-year member of the soccer team and tennis teams. Last year, he was 1st seed Big 10 Doubles Champion in tennis.

In his spare time, Justin enjoys rock climbing, skiing, fishing, water sports, and gaming. His future plans are to attend Fairmont State University to study Cyber Security.
