The Lincoln Cougars Beat Liberty at the season opener with a score of 4-3. The game lasted ten innings. the winning hit was hit by Hannah Ferris which brought her sister Haleigh Ferris. “Hannah is just a freshman, but I think she will be big as a hitter for us and she showed what she’s capable of,” Lincoln coach Yancey Weaver said. “That was a clutch hit for us for sure.” The game was played with very few errors with starting pitchers Madi Andrick of Lincoln and Logan Shanholtz. Andrick breezed through the first three innings, as she was perfect with five strikeouts. Lincoln had gained the early lead but ended up in a tie at 3-3 until the bottom of the 10th when Haleigh Ferris scored the winning run.
