Lincoln high cougars baseball team played against Fairmont where the cougars came out on top with a score of 9-5. “I thought our pitchers did a really good job,” Lincoln coach Mark Starkey said. “We did enough to win the game. First game, we made some errors. But the pitching carried us today.” “We knew if we could get Boyce up in the pitch count, and with them having two games tomorrow, if we could get to their bullpen, good things could happen,” Starkey said. David Akers and Kobie Carpenter both had a good game both pitching and hitting. Akers allowed an earned run on four hits with the six K’s to pick up the win.
