Lincoln’s volleyball team started off their preseason this Monday with a scrimmage against Heritage Christian. After a long time of practicing, the Cougars were ready to take on the Patriots.
The JV started off their match slow and fell behind at first, but finished the first set with a loss 15-25. The Cougars started strong in the second set and came out with a win, 25-17. Given that this match was only a scrimmage, the teams only played 2 sets instead of best 2 out of 3.
Quickly after the JV finished, Varsity began. The Cougars started to struggle at first, but once Savannah Varner was up to serve, they were able to keep the ball for 12 serves, including two aces. That put the Cougars on a good run and finished strong, 25-14. Again, they only played two sets for Varsity, and with a more competitive second set the Cougars came out with another victory of 25-22 and ended the night 3-1 overall.
