In the crosstown rivalry boys soccer game, the Mountaineers definitely came to play.
Liberty’s first goal was scored by one of Lincoln’s own defenders. He was trying to stop a ball with his thighs instead of his head and that’s what made the ball go into the net. This gave Liberty the advantage right off the bat.
Lincoln never seemed to overcome this mishap, and the team suffered because of that. The score at the end of the first half was 4-0 in Liberty's favor.
Things started to look up for the Cougars, but not until the last 20 minutes of the game. They put up a good fight in the end, but still lost to Liberty - 7-0.
