New to Lincoln High School this year is Mrs. Wickland, but she's not exactly new to Lincoln High School.
Mrs. Wickland was a teacher at Lincoln two years ago when she accepted a long-term position teaching Italian and Spanish classes.
She is teaching Spanish I and II, replacing Mrs. Shaulis.
She is originally from Bridgeport, WV and most recently taught at Bridgeport High School and Liberty High School before her retirement.
Her thought on the school so far is that she simply loves it. She chose her career because it’s just what she’s supposed to do, and she agrees that Lincoln lets her do just that. Mrs. Wickland said she wasn't looking to take a long-term position and she definitely wouldn't have agreed to do it if it were any other school than Lincoln. She thinks we realy have a great school.
Mrs. Wickland's favorite thing of all her years of teaching is when a student says, “Oh, I understand that!” Of everything she has taught, grades 9-12 are her favorite grades to teach. AP Spanish is her favorite class to teach.
She is very happy to be a teacher at Lincoln! She can't wait to see what all excitement the year holds.
