Lincoln’s football team opened their 2018-19 season this Friday by traveling to Braxton County to face the Eagles.
The game started slowly as the score at halftime was still 0-0.
In the 3rd quarter, a Payton Hawkins punt was dropped by an Eagles' receiver and recovered by the Cougars. The turnover lead to a 26-yard field goal by kicker Pedro Rivas.
That was all the motivation the Cougars needed as the defense wrapped up a 3-0 victory over Braxton County.
Although the Cougars would have liked to see many more points on their own side of the scoreboard, they still held the Eagles to no points.
Colten Hovermale had 70 rushing yards on 17 attempts, Pat Bart threw for 51, and Hunter Moore caught six passes for 38 yards.
The Cougars will have their first home game on Friday as they play RCB.
