Real Life. Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking.

Public Specking. A topic that gives everyone butterflies when they hear it.

Public speaking includes things from giving a class presentation to traveling through different states to give speeches.

Usually, throughout your school career, you will have to do many public speeches. No one wants to, but it really helps out on your social skills.

I found some tips that will make public speaking easier for you.

First of all, it’s okay to be nervous. Nine times out of 10, every public speaker probably gets nervous. You just have to face your fears. If you're nervous, you can practice in a mirror and get feedback from your family and friends.

You should know what age group you are talking to and organize your speech to be entertaining to them. Elementary school age kids don’t want to listen to a college lecture.

In the beginning of your speech, you should grab the audiences attention. You want to keep them on the edge of their seats. Let your personality shine through and make sure to use humor and gestures.

The most important thing is to make eye contact with your audience. No one wants to watch you read a paper, and it helps to project your voice.

I hope this article will help you if you struggle with getting up and talking in front of a crowd.
