Saturday, the Lady Cougars welcomed Southern Maryland to Lincoln in their first home game of the season. During JV, the score was kept close throughout the game and fouls were not a rare occurrence. The girls went into triple overtime and played the third OT with three players, Kayla Davisson, Kat DeMary and Katie Martin. Martin was brought down from Varsity and Coach Darway accepted a technical in order to put her into the game. The girls lost in the third OT, 43-46. The Varsity had a slow start, but after the half, came out strong and out scored the Rams 28-5 in the third quarter. The girls kept pushing, even through bad calls, and were able to come out with a 68-34 win over the Rams. Victoria Sturm was able to finish with a game high 23 points. The girls play again tonight at home against RCB, JV at 5:45 and Varsity 7:30.
