Getting to know staff member, Mrs.Young!

Mrs. Sarah Young is one of the teachers in our English department.

She got into teaching as a kid when she would play school with her sister. Then she really knew she was going to be a teacher when she was helping her classmate with work and she really enjoyed that.

Mrs. Young has been teaching for a total of 12 years - nine of them are in public schools and three of them were teaching at Pierpont Community and Technical College.

She couldn't really decide on what her favorite class is because she said that each of them are different and they all have their positives and negatives, and that makes it hard to chose.

Lincoln is her third public school and she also taught at PC+TC.

She says that her favorite memories are when her students would reference things that they did in class and when they say “I learned that in Mrs. Young's class.”

Mrs. Young went to East Dale Elementary, Peterson Middle School, James Monroe High School, and Fairmont State.

Her favorite class in school was math, but she also had a composition class which she thought was pretty great.
