Mrs. Matheny is a teacher at Lincoln High School.
She began teaching because she couldn’t decide on a major and she was told to make a decision. She worked an autism camp and fell in love with the kids, so she decided to teach.
She’s been teaching for 34 years, and she has been at Lincoln for 30 of them.
She has taught at Norwood Elementary, Bridgeport Middle School, and Lincoln High School.
She went to high school at Liberty High School, and for college, she attended Glenville State and West Virginia University.
Her favorite memories are when she sees a student come back when they’ve accomplished so much and she took part in that.
Her favorite class to teach is English 11.
She has a daughter who was a Lincoln High School Graduate and on her spare time she works all the ball games and helps with Key Club and Student Council.
