Mrs. Julie Smith is one of the teachers in our special education department.
Mrs. Smith began teaching because she loved kids and helping others.
She has been teaching for twenty years, and she taught at Washington Irving Middle School for one of those years and at Lincoln for the rest of them.
Her favorite classes to teach are science, English, and special education.
So far, Mrs. Smith's favorite memory of teaching was when one of her students got up at graduation and thanked her for helping them throughout high school.
Mrs. Smith went to Lincoln as well for school, and she was the class of 1988. In school ,her favorite class was gym.
She’s been married to her husband for 30 years, has three kids, a daughter-in-law, and one grandchild.
Outside of school, her time is taken up by boating, walking her dog, hanging out at the pool, and going on trips to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.
