The Lady Cougars traveled to Charleston last Thursday morning for their first round State Tournament game. The girls were up against No. 5 Frankfort and had a great first half, but lost momentum in the second half. While Victoria Sturm played great defense against Frankfort stand-out Beeman, she was still able to score 16 points. Victoria led Lincoln with 13 points, Katie Martin with 9 and Brynne Williams with 8. Allison Rockwell added 13 rebounds to help the Cougar effort, but after struggling to score in the second half, they took a hard loss 46-38 as Frankfort advanced to play Friday. Frankfort fell to Fairmont Senior Friday evening and Senior was able to secure a State Championship title after defeating Wyoming East by 12 points.
