A trip of a lifetime!

From April 1st until April 11th I spent my time in Haiti. Not only was this a great opportunity to serve, but to learn. The people were such a blessing and so welcoming. Some days were spent traveling to different cities to set up a makeshift clinic. We usually saw around 65 patients a day. Other mornings we would spend bagging rice and beans to be given out. Once that was finished we would spend time with the kids at Fort Liberte and play basketball. In the evenings we would get on the bus and go to a city to distribute bags of rice and beans that would usually feed a family up to a week. Around 8,000 people were given food during our 11 days. Not all of our time was spent working. We would walk around, go to shops, and even went kayaking in the ocean one day. This experience was the most amazing thing. It helps you to realize what we take for granted. From important things like healthcare to the simplest things like clean water. I hope to get to go back next year.
